Although not everyone realizes it, road transport plays a key role in our everyday lives - it is precisely on timely deliveries that the proper functioning of many companies depends. However, such a guarantee is not only reliable, fully functional vehicles, but also the efficient work of truck drivers, which is only possible when they are provided with safe and comfortable working conditions.

What must be in the truck cabin? – the most important pieces of equipment
Truck equipment can be divided into basic and additional elements, and although the latter are voluntary, in order to improve the convenience and comfort of drivers (including mental comfort), it is worth taking care of them as well.
The basic, most important elements of the truck cabin equipment undoubtedly include tachographs, i.e. devices used to control the driving track, the speeds achieved during shorter and longer routes, which additionally also provide information about the working time of a given driver and thus contribute to increasing safety on Polish and foreign roads.
The truck cabin should also have air conditioning to improve well-being on hot and sunny days, and as far as additional elements are concerned, it is worth taking care of a place for well-deserved rest and sleep, RTV equipment, electrical sockets, parking heating and lighting ensuring better visibility.
New regulations from 7 July 2024 – what equipment will be mandatory from the beginning of the summer holiday period?
In order to improve the general safety of vehicles, drivers, and other road users, Polish law is constantly trying to adapt its regulations to European standards and thus increase the comfort of, among others, people driving trucks. According to the regulation coming into force on July 7, 2024, all new vehicles will be required to have a number of advanced driver assistance systems - driving without them can, among other things, reduce the content of your wallet during inspections, so entrepreneurs with transport companies should not risk it.
From July, new trucks will be required to have:
reversing cameras and sensors;
hazard warning lights that automatically switch on during heavy braking;
tire pressure monitoring system;
a warning system for exceeding the maximum permitted speed on a given section;
radar that warns of the presence of people or objects in front of the truck when it is starting off;
factory installation enabling the installation of an alcohol lock that prevents the ignition from being turned on without undergoing a breathalyzer test;

It is worth noting that this is not the end of the changes in force in the European Union member states - the implementation of some of the rules included in the GSR (General Safety Regulations) has been postponed to 2026-2029.
